Driven by its Mission-Vision and goals, PSWDO aims to promote the rights and welfare of the poor, disadvantaged, and vulnerable individuals, families, and communities by making social services accessible to improve their quality of life, as well as empower individuals, families, and communities and support them with appropriate and converging social services.
For the year 2022, the following Programs, Projects, and Activities were implemented:
– Local Council for the Protection of Children and Provincial Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence against Women and Children (Joint Quarterly Meetings and Special Meetings)
The Provincial Council for the Protection of Children and the Provincial Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence against Women and Children were established to coordinate and monitor all children’s welfare. These organized councils define its significance in advocating children’s rights by implementing effective and sustainable programs that will serve as an emblem towards holistic protection of children. Through PSWDO, quarterly meetings were conducted in order to identify certain adjustments in the implementation of programs. Furthermore, new ideas are always observed in order to in-line plans in the vast and ever-changing situations that harm children.

- 2nd Joint Quarterly Meeting of PCPC and PCAT-VAWC held on June 20, 2022.

– Early Childhood Care And Development
Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) system is a comprehensive, integrated, and multi-sectoral approach centered on providing children with nurturing care. This program facilitates access to health services from pregnancy to 35 months old to promote the physical growth and development of the child. It also includes providing responsive caregiving, opportunities for early learning, and child’s safety and security to enhance the holistic development of young children.
One of the PPAs is the accredition of Early Childhood Care and Development workers and their Child Development Centers. It was conducted on the last quarter of the year. Three municipalities were ready and qualified to be accredited after undergone assessment and evaluation as accreditation process. It was done and conducted through on site visitation. There are twenty three (23) Child Development Workers and centers and five (5) SNP sites and workers were accredited in the Municipality of Rizal. For the municipality of San Jose seven (7) Child Development Workers and Centers and one SNP site and worker one hundred percent (100%) passed the accreditation.
– Back To School Program
PSWDO continued its focus in assisting out-of-school youth (OSY), child labor victims, teenage mothers, and those who stopped attending school due to the pandemic and their families’ difficulties.

– Adolescent Health And Development Program
PSWDO accomplished and fulfilled its duty in ensuring its capability in educating communities and mobilizing its finest resources to consider indications of success and triumph, focusing on strengthening and developing programs that become the medium of changes of data over negative figures of youth and family dilemmas and converting it to change and progress.
The teenage Pregnancy and HIV-AIDS Symposium was one of the program’s highlights due to the rising number of adolescent children and youths engaging in early sexual activities and unprotected sex.
250 participants attended from the Municipality of Sablayan and 210 from the Municipality of Mamburao.
– Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning
PSWDO conducted three (3) imperative trainings and symposiums, reaching 7,895 couples, informing awareness on responsible parenthood and family planning, and addressing other marital problems.
PSWDO also conducted Parent Teen Talk, “Breaking the Barriers” Symposium at Mamburao Occidental Mindoro on December 14, 2022, highlighting on breaking the barrier between parents and their teens resulting into open communication within the family.
– Sustainable Livelihood Program (Formerly known as Rehabilitation And Recovery Program For COVID- 19 Pandemic)
In 2022, PGOM thru PSWDO continued the implementation of the former Rehabilitation and Recovery Program for the COVID-19 Pandemic Program to now Sustainable Livelihood Program as immediate support, augmenting the target beneficiaries their daily needs and survival, mainly for livelihood and microfinances. – Programs for Rebel Returnees
The E-CLIP is a flagship program of the former President Duterte’s administration that aims to help members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF), and Militia ng Bayan (MB) to restore allegiance to the Philippine Government. The ECLIP is one facet of many strategies of the government to obtain just and lasting peace, social transformation, and inclusive development.
This 2022, PSWDO facilitated the awarding of Firearms, Explosives & ammunition to one (1) FR last March 2022, amounting to P 150,000.00. Eleven individuals received P 50,000.00 pesos each, amounting to seven hundred thousand P 700,000.00 pesos.
Aside from this, another 15 individuals received P 50,000.00 pesos each, amounting to seven hundred thousand P 700,000.00 pesos.
PSWDO also conducted trainings and psychosocial intervention at Barangay Mapalon, Calintaan, with 26 participants who were affected by the recent encounter between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and New People’s Army on April 25, 2022.
– PSWD Non-Infra MIMAROPA- Occidental Mindoro – LGSF- SBDP
PSWDO, as part of the Local Government Support Fund-Support to the Barangay Development Program (LGSF- SBDP), implemented projects prioritizing development and deliver basic services to conflict-affected barangays that lagged due to the terror caused by the CPP-NPA terrorist.
Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families through distribution of food packs and educational assistance were given to the five (5) barangays in Abra de llog. Occidental Mindoro namely: Barangay Cabacao, Barangay San Vicente, Barangay Balao, Barangay Wawa and Barangay Udalo.
With an allocated budget of P 500,000.00 for each barangay, Brgy. Mananao and Brgy. Harrison in the Municipality of Paluan received cash assistance targeting a total of 793 beneficiaries.
PSWDO also manages the care shelter project in Barangay Wawa, Abra de Ilog with an alloted fund of P 3,000,000.00 and in Barangay Udalo, Abra de Ilog with P 3,400,000.00.
– Person With Disabilities Welfare And Development Program
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10070, also known as Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) Law, some of PSWDO’s highlight in pushing programs to cater our PWDs are Quarterly Meeting of Federation of Persons with Disability and Federation of Parents/ Guardians of Children with Disability in Occidental, 18th Women with Disabilities Day, White Cane Safety Day. National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week Celebration, Medical Mission for Psychiatrically & Neurologically Challenged Individuals. Provision of Assistive Devices, Parents/Guardians Training in Handling Children with Developmental Delays and International Day of Persons with Disability cum Year End Gift Giving.
– KATROPA (Kalalakihang Tapat Sa Responsibilidad Obligasyon At Sa Pamilya)
With its aim to eradicate Violence against Women and Children and all Gender-based violence, KATROPA sessions proved knowledge- based support and other livelihood or financial assistance.
– Basic Business Management Training For Women Association Of Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro
PSWDO conducted Basic Business Management Training to aspiring business-owners in improving their leadership and managerial skills, imparting guidelines in becoming an effective entrepreneur and sharing new ideas and business designs that can generate customer demands and investor interests.
– Assistance To Individual In Crisis Situation
PGOM continuously implements social welfare and social protection services, especially the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) to complement the social amelioration programs of the government and to sustain the necessities of the families severely affected by the health and socio-economic disruption brought about by the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) health crisis.
